I have some incredible news: Paper World received the Best AI Music Video award at the Budapest Smart Fest

I’m not great with this kind of news. There’s always a small distance between the work and the recognition, especially with AI, where everything feels both hyper-controlled and slightly out of your hands.

Paper World came from a simple place: trying to give form to something fragile, almost disposable. A world that folds, wrinkles, resists.

I’m also glad because this piece has a strongly material origin. Like many of my works that I feel closer to, it starts from a blueprint built in the physical world. To make it, I created an actual 3D paper model and a set of characters, which were then used to build a moodboard in MidJourney 6.1.

The images were later processed and animated in Leonardo.AI NanoBanana and Kling.

Maybe it’s precisely this tension between matter and algorithm that stayed.
